“Christmas island” festival

  On January 15, a gala concert of the VII-th Urban Christian children's festival "Chistmas Island" will take place.
  "Christmas Island"- is a joint educational project of clergy and cultural societies of Kherson. The organizers of the festival are Kherson eparchy of Ukrainian Orthodox Church and office of culture and education of Kherson city council.
  This festival is taking place every year and is supported by acting mayor, the secretary of city council Zoya Yakovlevna Berezhnaya..
  In expectation of Christmas - human's heart is overfilled with triumphant joy where there is no place for everyday routine. People all over the world and angels in Heaven glorify and praise born Christ. How do we meet him?
  The aim of "Christmas Island" festival is to revive Orthodox traditions of Ukrainian people and inspire gifted children and youth to serve people with their talents and abilities.
  For 7 years of its history the festival strengthened contacts between its participants. Many participants enhance and enjoy their creative experience during the festival. The number of people wishing to take part in the festival is growing every year.
The program of the festival is scheduled as follows:
  08.01.2014 at 12:00 - The start of "Christmas stars" feast
(The place of the event: Monument "The Intercession of the Gods's Mother"). Here we can listen to congratulations to citizens of Kherson. The participants will go to congratulate on occasion of Christmas orphans and retired people in different city districts.
  14.01.2014 (from 9 am to 6pm) - selection of creative works
(The place of the event: Gymnasium № 3, Korabel district).
  15.01.2014 at 2 pm - Gala concert
